Your dog doesn’t have to be perfectly behaved or trained to have a great photography session.
My pet portrait photography sessions in Hull and East Yorkshire are relaxed, natural and focused on capturing your pet’s personality. Just like my child portrait sessions, I like to keep things fun and relaxed rather than making the session feel too formal or staged.
I do, of course, try to get your dog to sit and pose for those classic portrait photographs. But I also know that dogs have a mind of their own!
If they sit beautifully and look straight at the camera, fantastic. If they decide they’d rather investigate a tree, chase something in the distance or give me their best “I’m not listening” expression, we’ll work with that too.
Some of the best photographs happen when your dog simply forgets the camera is there.

I specialise in natural outdoor pet photography, using beautiful locations around Hull and East Yorkshire to create timeless portraits of your dog.
Outdoor sessions give your pet the freedom to move, explore and behave naturally. We’ll take some time to capture those classic sitting portraits, but we’ll also allow your dog to move around and show their personality.
This gives us a mixture of posed dog portraits, natural photographs and action shots, creating a gallery that feels personal to your pet rather than a collection of identical poses.
Dog Photography with a Relaxed Approach
If your dog is energetic, easily distracted or simply not very good at following instructions, don’t worry — you’re certainly not the first!
I’ll encourage your dog to sit, stay and look towards the camera where possible, using patience and plenty of positive interaction. But I won’t spend the entire session trying to force your dog into a pose they don’t want to hold.
My experience photographing children has taught me that patience, observation and being ready for the unexpected are often just as important as getting someone to pose.
Those same skills transfer surprisingly well to photographing dogs.
